1. General Information

These Terms of Service regulate the use of the Tails Abode platform (hereinafter, "the Platform"), accessible through the domain tailsabode.uk, the purpose of which is to facilitate the free adoption of rescue animals in the United Kingdom.

By registering and using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Nature of the Service

Tails Abode is an intermediation platform between registered rescue charities and people interested in adopting. The Platform:

• Does not act as the owner of the published animals.
• Does not guarantee the veracity, quality, or legality of publications made by users.
• Facilitates contact between parties only; the adoption agreement and legal responsibility rest solely with the users involved.
• Strictly prohibits the sale of animals. Only free adoptions are allowed. Any publication that includes words related to sale, price, or payment will be automatically removed.

3. Requirements to Use the Platform

To register as a user, you must:

• Be over 18 years old.
• Provide truthful, accurate, and up-to-date information during registration.
• Comply with Spanish animal welfare legislation, including Law 7/2023 on the protection of animal rights and welfare.
• Not publish animals for commercial purposes, illegal breeding, or those coming from abuse.

4. User Obligations

4.1. Owners and Organizations

• Guarantee that the animal meets legal requirements (vaccination, microchip, documentation).
• Provide truthful information about the animal's health status, temperament, and behavior.
• Not publish animals of protected or dangerous species without corresponding administrative authorizations.
• Respond responsibly to adoption requests.
• Not to request money, donations or any other financial consideration for the adoption, including for veterinary costs already paid.

4.2. Adopters

• Complete the adoption application form honestly.
• Comply with conditions established by the animal owner (e.g., follow-up visits, adequate space).
• Assume full legal and financial responsibility for the animal after adoption, including veterinary expenses, food, and care.
• Notify the Platform of any irregularity or suspicion of abuse.

5. User Generated Content

Users are responsible for the content they publish (descriptions, images, contact details). The Platform reserves the right to:

• Review, edit, or remove publications that breach these Terms, contain false information, offensive language, or infringe third-party rights.
• Suspend or block user accounts engaging in fraudulent practices, hidden sales, or illegal activities.
• Automatically remove publications containing prohibited words related to sales ("price", "buy", "sell", "payment", etc.).

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights regarding the design, source code, brand, and original content of the Platform belong to Tails Abode. Users retain rights over images and texts they publish but grant the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content for service promotion purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Platform acts as an intermediary and assumes no responsibility for:

• The veracity of information provided by users.
• Conflicts, damages, or issues arising from adoption agreements between individuals.
• Health, behavioral, or legal issues of adopted animals.
• Data loss, service interruptions, or technical errors.

Users use the Platform at their own responsibility and must exercise reasonable diligence before proceeding with any adoption.

8. Personal Data Protection

Personal data processing is governed by our Privacy Policy, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPD-GDD).

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will come into effect upon their publication on this page. We recommend reviewing this section periodically. Continued use of the Platform after the publication of changes implies acceptance thereof.

10. Conflict Resolution and Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute arising from the use of the Platform will be resolved in the courts and tribunals corresponding to current Spanish regulations.
